Club Training Night

We had a good training meeting last Monday where we looked at the presentation entitled “Be a Vibrant Club” which suggested some best practice for being such a club. These best practices were:

  • Make long range plans
  • Develop annual goals
  • Hold engaging meetings
  • Have a communication plan
  • Plan and maintain continuity of leadership
  • Adapt the Bylaws to suit our club
  • Develop relationships within the club
  • Match members activities to their interests
  • Coach members to lead
  • Create effective committees

A good discussion followed and the following suggestions were made:

  • Have a virtual BBQ
  • Janet to organise guest speakers for the foreseeable future
  • Talk about my town/suburb/city using background photos
  • Visit Orbost/Marlo to support Breast Cancer group (Melbourne and Canberra members would have about the same distance to travel)
  • Visit Canberra and have a Pete/Petra/Ian weekend.

Let’s go!

Vietnam Health Cards - Grant approved.

Folks, its on. This year we will be purchasing Health Insurance cards for the people in Dong Thap Province. Dong Thap is in the Mekong Delta in the south of Vietnam bordering Cambodia.

This year our aim is to purchase 900 health cards ( last year we purchased 800 in Dong Thap Province ). If you would like to support us on this project let me know. I hope to make the purchase before the end of this year.
